Cherished Hound: Best Laser Therapy Protocols for IVDD Dogs

Laser Therapy Protocol for IVDD Dogs

For nearly a year, Wendy Haines’ Cherished Hound Isabella was taking multiple medications to control the pain of intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). With the goal of eventually weaning Isabella off painkillers and avoiding surgery, Haines turned to Multi Radiance Super Pulsed Laser Therapy to ease the pain of this common condition.

In her blog post, Haines details how she worked closely with her veterinarian and rep at Multi Radiance to develop a treatment protocol for Isabella’s IVDD. Using the My Pet Laser, she treated her dog with Setting #1 for Inflammation, Setting #2 for Healing and Setting #3 for Pain Relief over the course of 2-3 months. And by reducing this present inflammation and pain, laser therapy helped prevent new IVDD episodes.

Because she was able to treat Isabella at home, laser therapy was a much less stressful pain management option for her dog’s IVDD. Even a short trip in the car could have re-injured Isabella’s back, so not having to go to the veterinary clinic for laser therapy sessions gave Haines peace of mind.
